In this week's blog, I shall be discussing the perils of being unemployed, as we (or the vast population) for that matter can all relate to.
And so, as I lay back in my rather elegant, corporate-like chair from within the comfort of mine own home, I begin to allow my mind to submerge me into a state of anxiety, which is complimented with intense frustration. As I toss and turn, left-right, right-left, swaying ferociously back and forth, I begin to feel my blood boiling. Okay, at this point this is when I realise that I'm now entering a heightened state of consciousness, as I begin to shuffle through thoughts on how to spend the day.
Not much can be said for the unfortunate folk, who happen to fall into this ever so frustrating social-trap. As my eyes become fixated on the time-zones, I can't help but to wonder how beautiful it would be if we had the ability to freeze time, so we can all experience the dullness of boredom together. However, when your unemployed, the concept of time becomes something of a social-luxury, as one tends to find oneself stranded in thought, as you pound through your room, living room, kitchen, then back to the solitary confines of your sleeping quarters. Your fingers become numb, due to your ferocious typing when replying to e-mails that happen to say; "Hi there, we would like to thank you for your application, but after careful consideration, we regret to inform you that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion". As If they actually took the time to collectively decide that we all deeply regretted dismissing you as such.
How to free the mind from the stress of unemployment:
In the following paragraph, I shall endeavour to provide you with a detailed remedy of dealing with the social plague of unemployment. I refer to it as such, because it seems to be infecting the minds of the masses at alarming rates, like the "black death".
So here are 10 vital steps that one shall find helpful when your on the verge of giving up the social-ghost, when the burden of life becomes all to much to bear.
1). write down a list of things that you think your good at. (These may range from drawing, moaning a lawn, to simply being able to change a lightbulb).
2). Adopt the entrepreneurial frame of mind, and try establishing yourself as a freelancer. (Bear in mind your skills, and talents, and how you can translate that into a niche market to generate profit).
3). Search through your wardrobes, attics, back of sofas, underneath your store-room for unwanted items that you simply no longer use, and try and sell those items on the wonderful ebay.
4). If your the creative type like myself, then you may want to consider frequenting your natural surroundings and embracing nature, perhaps even capturing the wonders of nature such as drawing and the like.
5). Frequent open-mic knights, (these you'll find are usually FREE which is why I go, as well as being a fellow Rapper/poet/singer to perform and embrace the creative atmosphere).
6). Join a sports group, this shall definitely kill time, as it not only allows you to keep mobile, and active, but it also allows you to network and possibly meet other unfortunate souls as yourself, and share ideas on job-hunting.
7). Adopt the initiative thought pattern, and take the initiative of knocking on door-door offering your services as a casual labourer.(But be careful not to sell yourself literally ha, ha)......
8). Join a volunteering group, (this is a great way to feel as though you've actually did a hard days physical work). As it ignites the energy-fields in your cerabellum.
9). Go busking, bearing in mind that you may actually need a certain degree of "talent' whatever that may mean is entirely debatable.
10). Offer yourself to the world of science for "research purposes". As this is a great way to generate rapid income, whilst you wait for your Jobseekers allowance to come through the period of three long, extremely depressing days of hunger, and thirst.
"So there you have it, Fabio valentine's 10 steps to eliminating the ever so daunting experience of being unemployed. For one must bear in mind, that inorder for us to overcome this great social-injustie and burden, we must first adopt a positive, pro-active frame of mind, and NVER EVER give up hope. As he who seeks shall find, and our heavenly father shall be hovering over our shoulders throughout out epic journey through the mysteries of life".
